Buyer of car confirms authenticityThe potential buyer of a late 2003 Toyota called the security register to verify the authenticity of a vehicle he was considering buying. The information given, including the etch code, did not agree with the data held on the security register. Further examination of the records established that the vehicle was stolen and on false plates. The details were passed to both the local police, and to the station where the vehicle was reported stolen.
