New BSIA chairmen appointed

The British Security Industry Association has announced a number of new appointments following its recent Annual General Meeting. Stuart Lowden, Managing Director – Security Services at Wilson James Ltd, is the new BSIA Chairman replacing Adam Wiseberg of AD Group who will continue as Vice-Chairman for one year.

Stuart Lowden comments: "I am delighted to have been given the honour of becoming Chairman of the BSIA. I am a strong believer in the value of the work of the Association and the contribution that it does and will make to the future of our industry. It is important to remember that we are a membership organisation and one of our many strengths is in the expertise of our members. As my term as Chairman begins, I have a great belief that we have the drive and capability within our staff and our membership to create a bright and prosperous future for our industry. I will certainly do my utmost to ensure that this is achieved."

David Dickinson, BSIA Chief Executive, comments: "I welcome Stuart's appointment as Chairman of the Association. He has long been a committed champion of the BSIA as a long-standing member of our Security Guarding Section. I am sure Stuart will make a significant contribution to the Association over the next two years. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Adam Wiseberg for his dedicated work during his term as chairman which has been greatly appreciated by the BSIA."

New section chairmen have also been elected as follows:
Access Control Section: Chairman – Mike Sussman (TDSI Ltd); Cash & Property Marking Section: Chairman – Michael Hinchliffe (Retainagroup Ltd); Cash & Valuables in Transit Section: Chairman – Derek Gee (Security Plus Ltd); Civil Aviation Security Section: Chairman – Ashley Smith (Tensor plc); CCTV Section: Chairman – Pauline Norstrom (Dedicated Micros Ltd); Export Council: Chairman – Paul Ramsay (Norbain SD Ltd); Information Destruction Section: Chairman – Russell Harris (Shred Secure Ltd); Police and Public Services Section: Chairman – Mick Lee (Constant Security Services Ltd); Security Consultancies Section Chairman, Ian Johnson (Ian Johnson Associates Ltd); Security Equipment Manufacturers Section: Chairman – Tony Allen (Dycon Ltd); Security Systems Section: Chairman – Tim Geddes (Yeoman Monitoring Services Ltd).

Physical Security Equipment Section Chairman – Clive Baker (Kaba (UK) Ltd), and Security Guarding Section Chairman, Derek Smith (Legion Group plc), will continue in office for a further year.
