Friday 2 May, 2008Dedication to crime prevention rewardedRaid-control – the national crime prevention initiative – has rewarded two of its members for their commitment to reducing crime within the retail environment.
The award for 'Outstanding Achievement in Promoting Raid-control’ was presented to Neil Chrismas, Sales Director for IBP Group Ltd. Neil has been a stalwart of Raid-control from the start and has consistently proven his commitment to promoting the initiative to a wide audience encompassing the Police, retailers, the security industry and the general public.
Stephen Moody, Security Development Manager, VIS Security Solutions, received the award for 'Outstanding Achievement in Implementing Raid-control’. Stephen has been integral to the roll-out of Raid-control in Northern Ireland. He has been key to liaison between the Police Service and Raid-control, consistently going the extra mile by re-drafting Raid-control material so that it is suitable for Northern Ireland. Without Stephen's contribution, Raid-control would not have been successfully adopted in the area.
Raid-control Chairman, John Birkenshaw, comments: "Raid-control is proud to honour Neil and Stephen as a mark of appreciation for their extensive contribution to the initiative. Without the hard work of Raid-control members, we would not be achieving as much as we are, with more and more retailers benefiting from installing Raid-control. Neil and Stephen thoroughly deserve their awards and I congratulate them on their success." The awards were presented by Phillip McCullough, former head of PSNI Crime Prevention Department and co-founder of Raid-control in Northern Ireland, at the Raid-control annual awards dinner held at the Radisson SAS Hotel, Belfast on 24th April.
Raid-control is supported by the BSIA.
