BSIA launches Apprentice Installer Awards 2008

The British Security Industry Association is launching its 2008 Apprentice Installer Awards during the first ever 'Apprenticeship Week' from 25th-29th February 2008. The awards recognise excellence, quality of service and professionalism amongst apprentice installers within the security industry.

BSIA Technical Director, Alex Carmichael, comments: "The electronic sector of our industry relies on the enthusiasm and talent of its people. Apprenticeships are a vital means of harnessing this talent and of providing installers with an excellent grounding in their chosen career. The BSIA's Apprentice Installer Awards recognise the cream of the security industry's apprentices and are a fitting tribute to the enthusiasm and commitment of the new blood of our industry."

This year's Apprentice Installer Awards are again kindly sponsored by Dedicated Micros Ltd. The awards are open to apprentice installers from security companies certified for their activities by a UKAS accredited certification body. Apprentices are eligible if they are involved in the installation of alarms, access control, or CCTV. The scheme is designed for third year and particularly outstanding second year apprentices. Individuals can also be nominated by the college where they are studying. For a nomination form, contact BSIA's Christine Brooks via email or by calling 0845 3890743. The closing date for the awards is 2nd May 2008.
