Time and Attendance - Fläkt Woods
A BSIA member worked with Fläkt Woods, a global company providing solutions for ventilation and air treatment for buildings as well as fan solutions for Industry and infrastructure applications, to install a new Time and Attendance system when they moved premises, replacing the current system which was over 10 years old. The company now required an integrated system for their 400 staff at their new UK manufacturing facility in Colchester.
Amy Wyatt, Human Resources Officer, was given the task of finding a new supplier. Essentially, Amy wanted a security and time monitoring system that would accurately monitor security and time & attendance, was easy to use, and was less time consuming to administer than their existing system. The new system also needed to be an integrated access control system to secure the site.
Fläkt Woods chose a BSIA company because: “They could do what was needed and demonstrated the flexibility and ease of use of their system." Another advantage was that they provided a seamless interface to the company’s payroll system.
An integrated security system was installed comprising smart card based access control hardware and clocking stations, including a Fire Roll Call system. A few problems were encountered during the installation, as some of the doors to which the access control was to be fitted were not in place. No problems were encountered with the software installation.
Amy Wyatt was trained on how to use the system at a special workshop.
Amy described the trainer as: “Very knowledgeable.” Although Amy does not believe that they use the security system to its full potential yet, she is happy with its current use for basic time access control and time recording.
“Logical layout and easy to understand,” was Amy’s view of the system.
“Once you know what you are doing the system is very easy to use - but you do need the training first,” Amy commented.Fläkt Woods have also installed the suppliers Fire Roll Call System.
When asked what she liked most about the BSIA company, Amy commened: “Functionality, flexibility and reportability.
