Forensic marking deters thieves

One BSIA member provided the Queen Katherine School with forensic marking to ensure their ICT equipment could be made secure whilst retaining a friendly, open environment.

The school has superb ICT facilities, with over 220 machines, laptops for many of the teaching staff, and data-projection equipment spread throughout its 12 ICT suites.

The BSIA member's recommendation of a forensic marking solution has deterred thieves to such an extent that no incidents have been recorded at the school since marking was 'installed'. Bright orange signs advising of the use of forensic marking also acts as a deterrent, putting thieves off.

Jarrad Collings, IT Manager at the Queen Katherine School said: "Forensic marking has helped our pupils and the wider community make the most of our ICT facilities. We've been able to provide a welcoming environment safe in the knowledge that our assets are secure."
