Museum's vehicles are secure thanks to property marking

One BSIA member is helping to protect motor vehicles at Britain’s prestigious National Motor Museum at Beaulieu. The member specialises in a forensic marking product to act as a deterrent to thieves who may attempt to steal any of the prized vehicles, which have a total value of approximately £50 million.

The product has been applied to each of the 250 exhibits and since its implementation the scheme has proven to be 100% successful as no vehicles or parts marked have been stolen.

A spokesman for the museum said his team have been waiting for years to find a property identification product that’s not intrusive to the vehicles. He said: “The product is perfect because we can apply it to each part of the vehicle, even inside engine casings. It’s virtually invisible to the naked eye which is ideal for our purposes.”
