City of London Academy Islington uses BSIA member to expand its access control system
The City of London Academy Islington has become a thriving community since it opened in September 2008 with an increasing number of individuals using its premises.
As a result, the Academy investigated options to expand their access control system, without the expense and disruption of replacing their original system. A BSIA member that was approached to provide a solution offered a reader that could read the existing cards while supporting other card technologies. This enabled flexible and economic expansion while maintaining complete compatibility with their existing system.
The BSIA member's system permits further readers to be added if required and allows authorised personnel to update security arrangements and control access to specific areas. Individual cards can be quickly programmed, allocating each cardholder with access rights consistent to their status and responsibilities within the Academy.
