Lloyd's is now secure thanks to BSIA member
Lloyd’s has developed over three centuries as the world’s leading insurance market providing specialist insurance services to businesses in over 200 countries and territories. Electronic access control was originally implemented and complemented the physical, security guarding and procedural security regime. However, increasing security threats prompted a review of their existing security measures and one BSIA member were awarded a contract to provide an Enterprise Security Management System (SMS).
The BSIA member replaced and expanded Lloyd’s existing installation with a combination of smart card readers and integrated smart card and biometric readers. Controlled pedestrian barriers were also provided at entry/exit locations. The building’s perimeter security was raised and maintained to a consistently higher level. Within the facility, integrated smart card and biometric readers were also employed in order to restrict access to a number of sensitive areas and rooms.
