BSIA member enhances organisation's security

The Land Securities Trillium (LST) has been working closely with a BSIA member on a project to achieve their requirement for enhanced security.

A number of areas were identified whereby electronic security systems would either enhance security or carry out a task automatically therefore allowing guarding security resources to be reduced or utilised more effectively.

The following key areas were identified: automatic or remote locking or unlocking of main entrance doors; automatic or remote arming and disarming the intruder detection system; prevention of client staff entering an alarmed building by lockdown in the event of an alarm, receipt of visitors either locally or remotely after audio and video verification; provision of secure access at all times thereby removing the need for separate keys; provision of common card access control and a single database across the client estate and local or remote control of the car parking area.

The BSIA member developed the optimum solution and achieved the key objectives by integrating various elements of electronic security. The member created a tailor made solution that meets the LST’s needs, which included card readers with integral keypads supported by video and audio facilities are used as well as vehicle barriers to control entry into car parks.
