Celebrating a successful IFSEC International 2012
The British Security Industry Association enjoyed another successful year at IFSEC, welcoming almost four times more visitors to its stand than in 2011. Among the activities organised or attended by the BSIA at this year's event were:
- Dedicated members' lounge for use by BSIA members only
- Support in the organisation and judging of the IFSEC Security Industry Awards, alongside UBM
- Official photocall for award winners & finalists on the BSIA's stand
- Facilitating the show's International Visitors' Lounge
- Meet the Buyers 2012 - a speed networking event putting UK exporters in touch with overseas buyers
- A networking luncheon, welcoming both existing and potential Association members for an informal get-together
- Presentation by Chief Executive, James Kelly, on 'The State of the Security Nation'
- Drop-in surgeries providing advice from the BSIA's Technical team, helping installers prepare for the forthcoming changes to the PD6662 scheme
- Seminar on the lone worker standard BS8484 by the BSIA's Technical Director, Alex Carmichael
- Presentation on the impact of the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games by the BSIA's Project Director - 2012, David Evans
- Representation on Scottish Development International's stand for BSIA members based in Scotland
- Official launch of the BSIA Training Providers Section's Code of Ethics
- Media one-to-ones with BSIA Section Chairmen, raising the profile of BSIA members in a range of sections
- Debate on the benefits of single service vs multi-service featured a panel made up entirely of BSIA members
