Members of the BSIA were invited to attend a series of informative seminars at venues across the UK, which were designed to prepare BSIA members for the ongoing changes to the standards affecting manufacturers and installers of intruder and hold-up alarm systems, in particular the impact of the revised PD6662 scheme, which is now nearing the end of its two-year changeover period following publication in May 2010.

In 2011, our Guest of Honour was Lynne Featherstone MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Equalities and Criminal Information, who presented the Security Personnel Awards, Special Awards for Outstanding Service, and Apprentice Installer Awards. Also, BSIA Chairman, Julie Kenny CBE, presented her personal Chairman's Awards to those who have made outstanding, lasting contributions to the security industry. Finally, Brian Sims and Bobby Logue of SMT Online and Infologue.com respectively, presented their exclusive Building the Future Award.
