Welcome to the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) Golf Society.

The BSIA Golf Society has been formed by the BSIA to provide operators and colleagues within the UK Security Industry a network where you can enjoy networking with like-minded individuals and create a community whose members are dedicated to enjoying and playing the sport of golf.

Our Objective

Golf transcends being a mere sport; it's an opportunity for camaraderie and networking among like-minded individuals. Business owners and colleagues connect while navigating the course, fostering relationships beyond the boardroom. Shared enjoyment and challenges bond players and open avenues for mutual growth.

Who Can Join?

The BSIA Golf Society is open to both BSIA members and non-members alike. Our only caveat is that if you are not an existing BSIA member, you must provide proof of working for a security company or manufacturer operating in the UK. Please note additional benefits and discounts are also provided to BSIA members throughout the year over and above non-BSIA members (discounts will vary and be subject to sponsorship throughout the year).
(Registered BSIA Golf Society members may invite up to 3 guests).

How to Join?

Joining couldn’t be easier, in the first instance email us with your completed booking form to register your interest including name, company/organisation, and handicap where applicable. Don’t worry if you don’t have proof of handicap, we will find players' abilities and levels throughout the year. There is a one-off annual BSIA membership administration fee of £35 per annum per individual payable with registration.

Spaces for each BSIA Open are booked on a first come first served basis with a non-refundable, cancellation fee.

The Format

In our inaugural year, each event will be an individual Stableford (full handicaps) competition. Depending on how many events you decide to enter, your scores will be combined, and an average recorded against your appearances made.

i.e. If you play twice, scoring 33 points in your first round and 37 points in your second round, then your average score will be 35 points for the season (33+37) / 2 appearances = 35 points.

If you only choose to enter one event, that Stableford score will be recorded as your average for the season.

Whilst we will have an individual winner and runner-up at each BSIA Open Event, scores will continue to be tracked with an overall winner for the year being chosen by the best average Stableford score for 2024.

Handicaps

Handicaps will be tracked and adjusted after each event. Should you only enter once in the calendar year that handicap adjustment will roll over to the following season or the next time a player plays. Handicap adjustment will be plus or minus one handicap stroke for every two points above or below the average for that day’s tournament.

Organisational Structure

The BSIA Golf Society is run by BSIA staff with a view to supporting and funding the BSIA and a contribution will go to the BSIA’s chosen charity for the year. Handicaps will be recorded and adjusted accordingly by the BSIA Chief Commercial Officer (Paddy Kyle). All finances will be recorded and managed by the BSIA finance department and administration by the Head of BSIA Administration & BSIA Membership Development Executive.

Conclusion

The British Security Industry is a wonderful community of professional individuals. The BSIA’s goal is to provide a relaxing platform for members and non-members to come together and enjoy the more social aspect of our industry.  We encourage players of any gender, race or ability to join the BSIA Golf Society and we would welcome the opportunity to build on a diverse and inclusive community.
