SelectaDNA Spray Saving Merseyside Post Offices

Security DNA specialists and Chairman Company of the BSIA Asset and property protection sector – Selectamark security systems have spent the past few years working with high risk of attack post offices throughout the UK.

In 2012, the post office regional manager of Merseyside approached Selectamark to discuss a cost effective way of protecting 20 of the ‘highest risk’ stores in the area. SelectaDNA spray was introduced to prevent any theft; it is a liquid spray that disperses out onto the thieves’ clothes, skin and hair. SelectaDNA spray is a no harmful substance but cannot be instantly washed away and stays on clothes and creases of the skin for up to 4weeks. It has helped police identify the criminals by being able to take traces of their DNA from the skin, clothes and hair. The DNA will then be sent away for forensic analysis to prove whether they are guilty or not.
