BSIA members dominate industry Top 50
Ten representatives of British Security Industry Association (BSIA) member companies have received recognition in the IFSECGlobal.com Top 50 Most Influential in Security and Fire list 2015, which was announced last week ahead of this year’s IFSEC International exhibition and conference.

The Top 50 rankings are compiled following a public vote and deliberation by a panel of 13 expert judges from across the fire and security industries, recognising individuals from all elements of the security and fire sectors, including business leaders, academics and pioneers of technological innovation.

BSIA members account for an impressive 20% of the list, with 1 in 5 of security’s most influential individuals representing BSIA member companies.

The BSIA’s Chief Executive, James Kelly, ranks fifteenth, while its current Chairman, Pauline Norstrom – Chief Operating Officer of Dedicated Micros and AD Group – ranks highest of all BSIA representatives, in 12th place. Other BSIA member companies represented in the Top 50 include Tavcom Training, TDSi, Securitas and Xtralis.

Commenting on the list’s publication, James Kelly (pictured) said: “I am delighted to see so many of our trade association members independently recognised for their influence and contribution to the UK’s private security industry. The BSIA’s ongoing success in standards development, lobbying and representation depends upon the knowledge, experience and influence of such individuals, and their contribution to the Association is truly invaluable.

“Attracting the industry’s finest is an ongoing priority for the BSIA, but it’s not just the big players who can benefit from membership. Involvement in the activities of the Association is a key way in which representatives of smaller businesses can work towards expanding their own influence within the industry.”

Other BSIA members featured in IFSECGlobal’s Top 50 include: Mike Tennent (Tavcom Training), Alf Goransson (Securitas), John Davies (TDSi), Bob Forsyth (MITIE Total Security Management), Martin Harvey (Tyco), Julie Kenny CBE DL (Pyronix), Samir Samhouri (Xtralis) and Simon Banks (CSL Dualcom).
