BSIA members look forward to 19th edition of Intersec Dubai
Members of the Association’s Export Council are busy preparing for the 19th edition of Intersec Dubai, which takes place over the 22nd – 24th January. The show has become a firm favourite with UK security exporters looking to expand their reach in the Middle East and North Africa region.

According to a survey conducted amongst BSIA Export Council members, 69% of respondents are already active in the region, whilst 77% of them also reported that they are looking to increase business in the region over the coming 12 months.

Membership and Export Services Manager at the BSIA, Daren Wood, comments: “Countries in the Middle East are investing heavily in upgrading and securing their infrastructure. The Middle East market for security, which includes fire and safety, is estimated to make double digit growth over the next four years, as governments and businesses in the region look for innovative and improved technologies to protect people, assets and borders.”

These statistics perhaps indicate why 77% of respondents to the BSIA’s research attended Intersec 2016 and why many will be returning to the show floor this year.

Returning from 2016’s Intersec, many BSIA members reported that the show had been a productive experience, and that they had benefitted from engaging with some of the 31,261 visitors from 128 countries. A number of BSIA members will be returning this year to showcase their latest products to the show’s international audience.

BSIA members exhibiting at Intersec this year include:

TDSi – Stand S1-A09

BSIA member company, TDSi, will be giving a preview of its new forthcoming GARDiS software at Intersec this year. GARDiS is a web-based application that offers even greater flexibility and suitability to modern applications. One software install is all that is required to provide complete access control security for all a business’ needs.

GARDiS offers all the benefits of a highly secure web-based application – it is easily adaptable for an increased workload, provides easier maintenance and installation, is more secure and is accessible from anywhere on any device. GARDiS also features a simple-to-use and intuitive interface, that is designed and built directly around the needs of users and operators.

GARDiS has been designed to meet and anticipate important international security standards. Recently, the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) adopted an ONVIF Profile A and C as the de-facto new international standard for access control, and accordingly, GARDiS has been designed as an ONVIF Profile A and C compliant platform.

As well as GARDiS, TDSi will also be showcasing the latest version of its EXgarde security management software. The new version provides full integration with ASSA ABLOY’s KS100 server cabinet wireless electronic lock, which provides the ability to include the physical security of servers within the wider security network. EXgarde can also be used to oversee and control a number of complementary security systems such as Texecom’s intruder panels and SimonsVoss’ SmartIntego wireless door locks.

Managing Director of TDSi,John Davies, said of Intersec: “TDSi is excited to be taking part in Intersec 2017 as the Middle East is a key export market for us. The show offers the chance for customers and partners to see the latest products and services that are on offer and draws exhibitors and visitors from a wide area. Equally, the event offers the TDSi team the opportunity to talk directly to the people who buy and sell the products across the region and beyond. This gives a better understanding of the demands and needs from this important security market.”

Texecom – Stand S2-E33

Texecom, Europe’s largest independent security alarm specialist is also exhibiting at Intersec 2017. Established 30 years ago, Texecom’s award-winning products cover every aspect of external and internal security requirements.

Texecom’s flagship product range, the Premier Elite Series, provides a single, comprehensive security system architecture that scales from the smallest and simplest security applications through to the largest and most complex. Offering a choice of system size, housing types and offering both wired and wireless connectivity, there is a Premier Elite control system to suit almost any application.

With Ricochet® mesh technology, Premier Elite systems offer superior wireless security options and an acclaimed range of wired, wireless and hybrid system solutions.

Ricochet® enabled wireless devices receive and repeat wireless transmissions from other devices. The size, scalability and range of the entire system are extended as wireless signalling is no longer limited by point to point communications.

The range of a Ricochet® enabled wireless system is greater than previous systems, with multiple devices capable of relaying messages to and from even the most remote locations in a building.

At Intersec 2017, Texecom will be showcasing the upcoming introduction of Texecom Connect which opens up a new world of possibilities for Texecom security systems.

For too long, security systems have been separated and isolated from the outside world – only providing information when the worst happens, confusing and intimidating the very people who use them and lacking connectivity and compatibility with external systems that could benefit from the intelligence and information contained within.

Texecom Connect provides three new connectivity options to add value to any Premier Elite system, and to interface with leading 3rd party solutions:

Texecom Connect App – New smartphone application for Android and iOS operating systems.
Texecom Connect Hub –  New video verification and home automation expander.

Texecom Connect API – Protocol to interface and integrate with 3rd party solutions.

Clym Brown, Marketing Director at Texecom, comments: “Texecom is obsessive about providing world-class protection for people and property everywhere. As an independent, UK based designer and manufacturer of professional grade electronic security and emergency signalling systems, Texecom’s portfolio protects a wide range of applications. Exhibiting at Intersec showcases our solutions to the Middle East market and beyond.

Storm Interface – Stand S2-G09

Award-winning, UK based manufacture of Human Interface Devices, Storm Interface, will be exhibiting their range of secured, sealed and toughened data entry devices at Intersec 2017.

Ahead of this year’s Intersec, Storm Interface has announced that the Storm-AXS range of rugged access control products will now be available from Digital Factors UAE.

“To coincide with important new additions to the Storm range, we are delighted to introduce a new Storm-in-Stock partner. Digital Factors will serve a growing customer base in the UAE and throughout the Middle Eastern market” said Peter Jarvis, Senior Executive VP.

The new Storm S60 outdoor rated keypad-readers are ideal for access control applications in contemporary glass or polished stone buildings. An increasing number of these ‘landmark’ buildings can be found in many of the region’s cities. “We are looking forward to working with the team at Digital Factors to ensure Storm products are featured in many of those ‘signature’ buildings”, said Jarvis.

Formed with a vision to become a market leader in the secure issuance and physical access arena, Digital Factors are fast becoming one of the largest access control distributors in the Middle East. This growth has been achieved by providing high quality products which exceed their customers’ expectations, whilst maintaining the highest ethical standards.

“Our harsh climate requires access control equipment that is rugged enough to withstand extreme temperatures, high levels of UV radiation and dry, sandy environments” said Vinod Menon, Operations Manager for Digital Factors.

“Constructed in Storm’s ISO9001 accredited UK manufacturing facility, using the highest quality materials, Storm-AXS products are built to last. We are sure that their reliability and durability will be qualities our customers will very much appreciate”, said Vinod Menon.

Many other BSIA members will be in attendance at the show, with a number of them opting to exhibit as part of the UK Pavilion – organised by the BSIA. The UK Pavilion provides international visitors with a focal point to view the latest technology from UK brands who are globally renowned for their quality, integrity and innovation.
