BSIA 50th anniversary celebration planned for July
The BSIA has announced a glamorous new venue and high-profile keynote speaker for this year’s Annual Luncheon, which marks the organisation’s 50th anniversary.

Taking place on Wednesday 12th July, the event will take place at Covent Garden’s Grand Connaught Rooms, which offers modern facilities against an impressive backdrop of art deco glamour, with a sunny roof terrace playing host to the BSIA’s VIP Drinks Reception.

Each year, the BSIA’s Annual Lunch incorporates the presentation of the Association’s prestigious Security Personnel, Apprentice Installer, Chairman’s and CVIT Special Awards, which celebrate the achievements made by security officers and teams across the UK’s private security industry, as well as acknowledging the career-long contributions made by long-serving industry stalwarts.

James Kelly, Chief Executive of the BSIA, comments: “Our members’ contributions remain at the heart of the Association’s ongoing success, and our awards provide us with a perfect opportunity to recognise the talent and commitment of our industry’s finest.

“2017 marks the BSIA’s 50th anniversary, so this year’s Annual Lunch will be particularly special for us. We’re looking forward to welcoming stakeholders and colleagues from across the industry to a brand new venue for a special celebration of our industry’s successes and achievements.”

Speaking at the event will be publisher, writer and broadcaster, Andrew Neil, named Journalist of the Year 2013 by Britain’s prestigious Political Studies Association and one of the 500 most influential people in the UK by Debrett’s in 2015.  Andrew is a well-known anchorman on BBC TV, currently presenting three editions of the Daily Politics on BBC2 every week as well as the Sunday Politics on BBC1 and the award-winning This Week on BBC1 every Thursday night. He also anchors Politics Europe, which is broadcast on BBC2, BBC News Channel and BBC World.

Also in attendance as Guest of Honour will be Don Erickson, Chief Executive of the BSIA’s US equivalent – the American Security Industry Association – whose address will explore existing synergies between the two countries and the potential for closer working relationships post-Brexit.

Networking opportunities include pre-dinner drinks receptions and the continued use of venue space after the awards ceremony is concluded.

Tickets for the BSIA’s Annual Lunch are on sale now, with BSIA members benefiting from a discounted rate of £135 + VAT. This year, to bring the whole industry together in celebration, bookings for the event are also open to non-members of the Association, at a standard rate cost of £150 + VAT.
