The closing date for Nominations for 2018’s Security Personnel Awards has been extended so that the widest number of companies, members and staff can be included in the Awards.
With applications re-opened, the British Security industry Association is now calling for members to nominate employees that have surpassed expectations during the awarding period, to make it the biggest and best in its history.
The BSIA’s Security Personnel Awards recognise the commendable and limitless contributions made by security personnel each and every day, for achievements in a range of categories. Awards are presented for Service to the Customer, Outstanding Act, Best Newcomer, Best use of Technology and Best Team, in both regional and national rounds of judging. The national presentations will take place at the BSIA’s flagship event, its Annual Luncheon in July 2018.
The 2017 awards saw 33 high calibre regional winners and 15 outstanding national winners scoop awards for their contributions to community safety and maintaining our industry’s favourable reputation. Many of these inspirational achievements included life-saving actions, exceptional customer service and impressive teamwork.
Chief Executive of the BSIA, James Kelly, commented: “Our industry has an incredible amount of talented professionals working within it, many of whom regularly go above and beyond what is expected of them. These professional men and women play a vital role in safeguarding our nation and the BSIA takes immense pride in helping to recognise their achievements.
“For our member companies, the awards present a fantastic opportunity to showcase the hard-work, professionalism, bravery and commitment of their workforce. Security personnel are the public face of our industry and are key to the continued growth of consumer trust; as such it is hugely important that we reward the exceptional levels of professionalism displayed by security personnel.”
Camberford Law plc – specialist insurance brokers to the security industry – have sponsored the Security Personnel Awards since their inception eighteen years ago. Speaking after last year’s awards presentation, Managing Director David Ottewill said: “Camberford Law plc is delighted to be involved in the sponsoring of the BSIA’s Security Personnel Awards 2017. We applaud and encourage the promotion of professionalism within the industry and also the hard work and dedication required by the entrants to achieve such an award.
“We have been insuring security companies for over 30 years and all too often, the work of the security company and their individuals is overlooked, despite the fact that they play such a crucial role in public life and we feel it is only fair to recognise the outstanding achievers in this field.”
The Security Personnel Awards are open to members of the BSIA’s Security Guarding, CVIT, Leisure Industry, Specialist Services and Crowd Management sections of membership. The winners and their employers receive positive publicity in local and regional media, as well as comprehensive coverage in the security trade press.
Nomination forms for entries to each of the different award categories can be downloaded from the BSIA website: www.bsia.co.uk/security-personnel-awards. Guidance about completing the nomination forms, as well as the specific judging criteria can also be found online.
The application deadline for 2018’s awards is now midnight Friday 16th February 2018
