Businesses in Scotland are being invited to get involved in the UK wide Counter Terrorism Awareness Week, which will run from 24 November 2014. It will feature a range of opportunities and products designed to help businesses build resilience and protect their assets, staff and public.
Police Scotland are coordinating a week of events in Scotland are working together with colleagues and partner agencies across the UK to support the UK Government’s Counter Terrorist strategy ‘CONTEST’.
CONTEST aims to reduce the threat to the United Kingdom and its interest overseas, from terrorism, so that people can go about their lives freely and with confidence. Police Scotland is fully engaged with local, national and international partners to Keep People Safe and to address the current threat.
The following events have been confirmed :
A launch event will be held at 9am on Monday 24.11.14 at the Banqueting Halls, Glasgow City Chambers, Glasgow. Aimed at Executives / Senior Managers, an address will be given by Deputy Chief Constable Ian Livingston, a Ministerial address from the Scottish Government and presentations on the current global threat and a threat analysis from a business industry sector Chief Executive.
At 1030am a revised 2 hour Project Griffin product which reflects current threats and tactics will be delivered. Aimed at Security Managers , Management and Operational staff this internationally acclaimed protective security training is aimed at the business, retail and commercial communities providing inputs on Bomb Threats Management, Suspicious Packages, Hostile Reconnaissance and Firearms Incidents. On completion of training each participant is awarded a Certificate of Attendance. The product will be delivered free of charge. Register with Police Scotland on email@example.com

A Project Griffen as above will also be held at the Odeon Cinema, Olympia Shopping Centre, East Kilbride between 1000hrs and 1200hrs on Monday 24th November 2014 (Registration from 0930hrs)
