Author: SuperUser Account/01 May 2014/Categories: Blog

james-kelly-bsia-chief-executiveWith IFSEC International fast approaching, the British Security Industry Association has revealed its activity plan for this year's exhibition and conference, which makes its London debut on 17th – 19th June.

As the key event in the security industry’s calendar, IFSEC International provides an important focal point for industry practitioners to gather and exchange best practice, and provides us with the valuable opportunity to network with new contacts, while revitalising existing relationships.

Here are the top 5 aspects of the show that we’re looking forward to this year:

• Surveillance Camera Commissioners Code of Practice: Ensuring Effective Regulation.

On Tuesday 17th June at 1pm, Simon Adcock of ATEC Security Ltd, Chairman of the BSIA CCTV Section, Pauline Norstrom of AD Holdings, Vice-Chair of the BSIA CCTV section and Alex Carmichael, Technical Director of the BSIA, will be joining newly-appointed Surveillance Camera Commissioner, Tony Porter, to debate the future of CCTV regulation in the UK.

• Export Council 20th Anniversary

On Tuesday 17th June at 3pm, we will be hosting a celebration to mark the 20th anniversary of the BSIA’s Export Council, a dedicated forum established in 1994 to provide a focal point for UK security companies looking to secure a foothold in overseas markets. We’re marking this milestone with a glass of bubbly and a slice of cake at the BSIA stand, where we’ll hear from a few notable figures from the world of security exporting. Join us to meet fellow exporters and overseas contacts at this informal gathering. You can sign up to attend the event at http://eepurl.com/TIsw9

• British, European and International Standards: navigating a complex arena

On Wednesday 18th June at 11am, our knowledgeable Technical Manager, David Wilkinson, will present at IFSEC Centre Stage to explore the complex arena of standards development, providing advice to companies on navigating this complex landscape.

• Networking Luncheon with the BSIA

Join us on our stand on Wednesday 18th June for the opportunity to network with industry colleagues and meet with BSIA personnel who will be on hand to answer your questions about membership and current Association activity. The luncheon is open to both members and non-members and offers a chance to find out more about what we do in representing the private security industry. Register online to attend the event athttp://eepurl.com/TIz_j for members and all non-members can sign up at -http://eepurl.com/TIIx9

• UK Security on the world stage: advice for exporters

Finally, on Thursday 19th June at 1pm, experienced exporters from the BSIA’s Export Council, including its Chairman, Greg Stuttle of GJD Manufacturing, former Chairman, John Davies of TDSi, Ian Moore of Elmdene International and past Chairman of the BSIA, Julie Kenny of Pyronix, are gathering on IFSEC’s Centre Stage to provide advice for UK security companies looking to expand their horizons into overseas markets.

Enabling the sharing of best practice between industry professionals is a key function of the Association, and IFSEC provides an annual opportunity for the wider industry to reflect on the successes of the past year and exchange ideas about the future direction of our dynamic industry.

For more information about the BSIA and what we can offer your business, please visit us at stand D1500. We will look forward to meeting you.
