Joining the BSIA's Specialist Services Section
Companies wishing to join the BSIA's Specialist Services Section must meet the following criteria in order to be admitted to the section:
Specialist Services Section Criteria
Companies that offer specialist services such as, but not exclusively, CNI services, Technical Services Counter Measures, Surveillance, IT Forensics and Cyber Security.
The current standards are:
Members should ensure that all employees whose employment may involve them in the acquisition of, or access to, knowledge of a confidential nature, improper use of which could involve the member, any client of the member or a third party in a security risk with respect to Security Consultancy are to be security screened to: BS 7858 – “Security screening of individuals employed in a security environment”
Security Consultancies should operate to BS 8549- “Security Consultancy Code of practice”.
Close Protection members should operate to bs 8507-1 2008 - BS 8507-1:2008 - "Code of practice for close protection Services”.
