RISCO Group Launches Next Generation Hybrid Security System

Wednesday 19 January 2022 - RISCO Group

RISCO Group, a global manufacturer of Cloud-based security systems, has today announced the launch of the LightSYS+ hybrid system, designed to deliver significant time and cost savings to security installers.

LightSYS+ is RISCO’s next generation flagship system and has been re-designed from the ground up, to provide a single-platform solution for various sizes of Grade 2 and Grade 3 installations. The system has been created for small-medium residential applications, up to large-scale commercial environments, including critical infrastructure with stringent security requirements.

Future proofed system

The LightSYS+ solution benefits from the ability to easily expand a system to up to 512 zones and allows for installers to minimise stock holding and engineer training requirements, due to the streamlined system structure.

LightSYS+ allows for fast upgrades to the initial profile of the system, delivering substantial upsell opportunities for installers and can be fully integrated with the RisControl smart touchscreen keypad, winner of the 2021 PSI Award for ‘Technical Innovation of the Year’.

The new LightSYS+ main board is encased in protective plastic structure, designed to minimise chances of physical damage whilst installation is taking place.  The new board is a mechanical design with a stronger, more durable, and installer-friendly panel. It includes onboard IP and Wi-Fi, ensuring LightSYS+ has continual connection to the RISCO Cloud platform and allows for remote configuration. An optional 4G module is available, either as the primary communication or as backup for the IP and Wi-Fi communication.

LightSYS+ is launched with various box sizes, which can be selected based on installation requirements.

UK-centric programming option

Fundamental to the design of LightSYS+ is an option of a ‘Yes/No’ style programming menu structure, which is preferred by many UK installers.  Traditional RISCO-style programming, previously included on earlier versions of LightSYS and Agility continues to be available on the new system.

Other new features include upgraded hardware for three-times faster remote updates, a ‘presence zone’ option allowing for push notifications when systems are in unset mode and wireless visual verification PIR camera support through a FastBus line that allows for rapid data transmission. A USB Type-C input allows for faster and easier connection on site.
