BSIA launches its rebranded national annual awards

PRESS RELEASE

14/05/2018

The British Security Industry Association (BSIA) has renamed its Annual Luncheon and Awards as the British Security Awards.

Taking place on Wednesday 11 July at the Marriot Hotel, Grosvenor Square, the British Security Awards will celebrate the achievements made by security officers and teams across the UK’s private security industry, as well as acknowledging the career-long contributions made by long-serving industry stalwarts. Industry exemplars will be recognised in the following categories: Security Personnel, Security Business, Apprentice Installer, Chairman’s Award and the SaferCash sponsored Bravery Award.

Following on from the 50th Anniversary of the BSIA in 2017, the rebranded British Security Awards will feature guest speaker Reverend Richard Coles. Mr Coles, a cleric and well known broadcaster famous for his appearances on programmes such as Strictly Come Dancing and Have I Got News for You, as well as being a 1980s pop star in The Communards, will also be presenting awards to the winners on the day.

Other speakers include Assistant Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, Sir Stephen House, who will present the SaferCash Bravery Award.

James Kelly, Chief Executive of the BSIA, said: “The British Security Awards is the national event that recognises the talent and commitment of our industry’s finest. We’re looking forward to welcoming stakeholders and colleagues from across the industry to a fantastic venue for a special celebration of our industry’s successes and achievements.

“Our members’ contributions remain at the heart of the Association’s ongoing success and by rebranding as the British Security Awards, we aim to consolidate this prestigious event as the main security industry networking opportunity of the year.”

The British Security Awards also includes a drinks reception and lunch as well as drinks following the awards ceremony.

Tickets for the British Security Awards are on sale now, with BSIA members benefiting from a discounted rate of £140 + VAT.
