Renewal, Resignation, and Notice

Members wishing to resign must provide a written notice to the BSIA Secritariat in accordance with the Association's Article of Association.

A six-month notice period applies, during which membership fees remain payable. This ensures continuity of compliance, administration, and certification processes during the exit period.

Resignation is only considered complete once all outstanding fees and obligations have been settled.

Annual Compliance Declaration

All members are required to maintain an up-to-date Annual Declaration, confirming turnover, compliance status, and adherence to relevant standards.

The BSIA conducts a full declaration refresh every three years, but members but still notify the Association annually of any material changes affecting fees or compliance.

Keeping the declaration updated ensures fees remain fair, accurate, and reflective of the company's scale of operations.

Fee Structure & Proportionality

Principal membership fees are proportionate to company turnover (in UK security) to reflect fairness across SMEs, mid-sized firms, and large corporates.

Turnover information is used solely to calculate membership banding, and is treated in line with UK GDPR requirements.

Changes to turnover should be reported during Annual Declaration to avoid misbanding or inaccurate invoicing.
