From the revision of the EU Public Procurement Directive to future skills, labour shortages and preparedness, one message was clear: private security services are more vital than ever for public security and Europe’s resilience and crisis planning.

They also saw how AI, questions of cybersecurity and the evolving security landscape in Europe are reshaping our sector – and why the exchange between CoESS and the European Commission can make an important contribution to preparedness and crisis response planning. A fantastic speaker panel included Tibo Demoor Yannick De Smet Jean-Philippe BERILLON and Jacob Jeppesen from the European Commission for deep insights and recommendations for the way ahead in the EU Preparedness Union. One thing is sure: we need more public-private collaboration to be prepared for the very real existing and future threat scenarios we see unfold across Europe.
