Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025 (Martyn’s Law) webinars
Purpose
- Provide an overview of the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025 – including scope and requirements
- Allow time for a Q&A session with both Home Office and Security Industry Authority colleagues
Background
The Act received Royal Assent on 3 April 2025, and it is expected that the implementation period will be at least 24 months from this date, enabling those responsible for premises and events to have sufficient time to understand their new obligations, and to plan and prepare accordingly. This also allows time for the new regulator function of the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to be established. Whilst there is no legal requirement to comply with the legislation until it comes into force, those that fall into scope may wish to begin considering what they need to do before commencement.
The Home Office published statutory guidance on 15 April 2026, which will assist those responsible for premises or events in scope to understand the requirements set out in the legislation and prepare for commencement.
