Each event will be an individual Stableford (full handicaps) competition. Depending on how many events you decide to enter, your scores will be combined, and an average recorded against your appearances made.
i.e. If you play twice, scoring 33 points in your first round and 37 points in your second round, then your average score will be 35 points for the season (33+37) / 2 appearances = 35 points.
If you only choose to enter one event, that Stableford score will be recorded as your average for the season.
Whilst we will have an individual winner and runner-up at each BSIA Open Event, scores will continue to be tracked with an overall winner for the year being chosen by the best average Stableford score for 2026.
Handicaps will be tracked and adjusted after each event. Should you only enter once in the calendar, that handicap adjustment will roll over to the following season or the next time a player plays. Handicap adjustment will be plus or minus one handicap stroke for every two points above or below the average for the day's tournament.
The BSIA's Golf Society is run by the BSIA with a view to supporting and funding the organisation. A contribution will go towards the BSIA's chosen charities for the year. Handicaps will be recorded and adjusted accordingly by BSIA Chief Commercial Officer, Paddy Kyle. All finances will be managed by the BSIA Finance Team, and any administration will be managed by the BSIA Administration Team, BSIA Marketing and Communications Team and BSIA Membership Team.
