How to Join as a Probationary Member

1. Register Your Interest
Contact the BSIA or complete the online application form, indicating that you're applying for Probationary Membership.

2. Provide Company Information
You'll be asked to share:

  • Details of your business operations
  • Services you offer
  • Progress toward relevant certification or inspection

3. Commit to the Code of Ethics
Probationary Members must agree to operate in line with the BSIA Code of Ethics, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to high standards.

4. Application Review
Your application will be reviewed by the BSIA membership team. They may request a plan or timeline showing how and when you expect to meet full membership criteria.

5. Provisional Approval & Welcome
Once accepted, you’ll receive:

  • A Probationary Member certificate
  • Conditional access to selected BSIA resources and events
  • A clear path to full Principal Membership

What's Next?

Probationary Membership is typically granted for up to 12 months, during which your company is expected to complete the required steps for full compliance. Once you’ve achieved the necessary standards, you can apply for Principal Membership.
