We're straight back into it with a full agenda of workstream meetings as we head into a new year of driving positive change in the security industry.

Anyone in the sector is invited to take part in these meetings – you just need to register to join one or more of the workstreams via our website. We want as many views and opinions to be represented as possible.

Here’s a quick look at some of the sessions taking place over the next two weeks:

- Tuesday, January 6, 8.30am – Vetting, Data Sharing, Digitisation
- Led by Paul Evans
- Creating and exploring digital synergies across the industry to aid information sharing, eliminate risk and raise standards.

- Wednesday, January 7, 2pm – Lobbying to make it a criminal offence to assault an SIA Licensed Officer
- Led by Alex Booth
- Pushing for the introduction of legislation to afford SIA officers the same legal protections as other emergency services and retail workers.

- Thursday, January 8, 9am – MR8 Mandatory Business Licensing
- Led by Peter Harrison MBA
- Working with industry to ensure MR8 is implemented appropriately and successfully.

- Thursday, January 8, 2pm – SIA Business Approval Scheme
- Led by Paul Howe
- Strengthening collaboration between industry and government to shape a credible, proportionate and future-ready scheme.

- Friday, January 9, 8.30am – Customer and Buyer Engagement
- Led by Paul Evans
- Engaging with security buyers to take them on the S12 journey

- Friday, January 16, 10.30am – Integrated Policing and Private Security initiative
- Led by Paul Evans
- Creating a nationally defined and accepted model that can enhance and accelerate collaboration. This special session features ACC Jenny Gilmer.
