The BSIA's Cyber Security Special Interest Group was set up to gather cyber security professionals to address growing issues such as cyber threats, attacks, and hacking, that target physical security systems and service providers.
The group shares best practice, threat intelligence, and case studies that are relevant to vulnerabilities in BSIA sections such as alarm systems, access control, video surveillence, cloud integrations, and other managed security services. In conjuction, the group develop guidance, recommendations, and self-certification schemes for organisations that utilise cyber-based products and services.
As part of the Cyber Security SIG, CySPAG (Cyber Security Product Assurance Group) was developed to help manufacturers and installers ensure they are using best practice on their products and services.
