How to Join as a Principal Member

1. Submit Your Interest
Complete a simple online application or contact the BSIA membership team. You’ll be asked for basic company information and your relevance to the security sector.

2. Provide Compliance Documentation
To be accepted, you’ll need to show:

  • ISO 9001:2015 certification from a UKAS-accredited body
  • Evidence of compliance with relevant British or European security standards
  • Proof of insurance, business stability, and operational capacity

You may also need audit reports or inspection evidence from certification bodies like NSI or SSAIB.

3. Agree to the Code of Ethics
All Principal Members must agree to follow the BSIA’s Code of Ethics, committing to integrity, professionalism, and high standards in all business operations.

4. Review & Approval
Your application will be reviewed and your company will be vetted by the BSIA team. They may contact you for more information or clarification about your services and how you support the industry.

5. Confirmation & Welcome
Once approved, you’ll receive:

    • A welcome pack and membership certificate
    • Permission to display the BSIA Principal Member logo
